adventures & adorable friends

With all the chaos concerning friendships and school, it was great this weekend to hang out with a friend whom I have known for several years. Every time I spend time with her, it's like a reminder that there is always someone out there who understands you. This weekend we had a chance to explore some "uncharted" territory (ehh, sort of) past all the crazy construction and busy roads of my neighborhood, and it was one of the best little adventures. Of course we took my trusty camera with me and captured some pretty cool shots of the sunset. While most of the pictures look extremely serious, between pictures we laughed about all the mud and thorns we were getting stuck in, talked about the craziness surrounding our school, and basically did what every pair of best friends do.

very cliche, but one of my favorites

me wondering "are there are any snakes in here?"

cutest person ever

Hopefully I will see you all soon, but if not, enjoy your Valentine's Day with your friends or special someone (I'll be eating massive amounts of chocolate while watching 80's movies)   :)

disney world video

Hello everyone! Last weekend I traveled to the happiest place on earth (aka disney world) and got to spend the weekend with some pretty amazing friends and family. It was so nice to travel to somewhere a bit warm than Charleston (it flurried the night before we left), and there weren't too many crowds at the parks. I think I will be done going through all 800 pictures in the next week or so and will post all my favorite pictures, but in the meantime I put together a little video with some clips from my trip.
Enjoy!

hello!

hello there!

2015 has rolled around and even though nothing significant has really changed since New Year's, I have felt like I need to find a hobby or work on something new (going a bit stir crazy). If you know me personally, you would know I have an extremely difficult time finishing any kind of project, unless it is something that can be done in less than an hour. I've enjoyed blogging ever since I started last January on my other blog, but I always felt like I was posting just to post instead of really focusing on quality posts that I was proud of. Most of the posts I wrote on that blog were things I wasn't interested in, which led me to start from scratch.

Where do I want to go with this blog?
To be completely honest, I want this blog to be a place where I can write and actually enjoy it, but other than that I am using this simply as a creative space for now. I might blog for a month and quit (hopefully not!), or I might use this blog for a long time. Whatever happens, I hope you all enjoy these posts much more than the old ones that I put out just because I was nagging myself.

Why start now?
Today I had a friend tell me she enjoyed reading my blog and that reading new blog posts was like Christmas to her (you know who you are and you rock). This inspired me to try and figure out a way to severely revamp my former blog or start over. Also, several people I know have started blogging again and if they can do it, I can certainly try (right?). I've never been much of a New Year's resolution kind of gal but if I was, spending more time to enjoy blogging would certainly be at the top.

I've truly missed the blogging experience, even if I never was a huge writer in a blogging community. I always loved posting pictures, telling stories, sharing my adventures, and writing knowing someone out there was reading my stuff. I did enjoy blogging for a long time and posting something new made me feel accomplished, and for the first few days of having my blog, I literally could not wait to post something new right when I woke up. Hopefully I will find this same joy through this second attempt!

So that's it. I'm back for another attempt at blogging, and we'll see where it takes me. :)
